….the next England manager? Seems clear Southgate is off.
Potter I suppose? Is there another Southgate type lurking at HQ?

In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!

Eddie Howe for me.

Would probably work time wise too.

Absolutely no chance KM takes a job which isn’t day to day management.

He’d have his missus doing rondos in the garden.

Cooper’s an FA graduate. But Howe would be a better bet. Or maybe Klopp fancies a new challenge?

I've said this a couple of times but - McKenna will take the England job in another ten+ years after winning his third champions league with us.

Rooney is out of work, sign him up.

Plus he has great relations with England fans, going as far as calling them ‘loyal supporters’ after another feeble World Cup showing…

McKenna for England rather than Northern Ireland ?

If his career goes as hoped and he parallels Alex Ferguson then I can see him taking on the Northern Ireland post many years in the future, This is the point of divergence, Ferguson never looked like taking the Scotland job because he still had so much to do at Manchester United and Scotland is such a demanding job in terms of expectations and disparate characters and playing styles of their top players (which is why Steve Clarke has shown himself to be so good.) That is not to say that Northern Ireland is not complex (and there is a possibility that the nation will have been absorbed by then anyway, so an all Ireland team might be even more appropriate for McKenna) but if Kieran can eclipse Ferguson by wrapping up a big club position (hopefully Ipswich are that big club by then) and leaving the club in a fit enough position for another top class manager to step in and make it work then that would be the time for a more gentle path towards retirement through international management.
