Chelsea fan asked me at work if we'd swap McKenna for Omari as hypothetical. He says we would we be mad not to, as we could in theory in this hypothetical situation sell Omari for lots more than the compensation we would get for McKenna.
Yes, I know it doesn't work like that and speculating doesn't help anything....

The manager (and especially KMc) is bigger than one player.
Say Omari gets a bad injury / loses form etc - he's no use to us then until he is fit again. KMc in the meantime makes a difference every day. [Post edited 20 May 13:45]

We could do the swap then sell Omari for £50m but keeping McKenna here could see multiples of that in transfer fees/staying up.

OH may not perform to anywhere near same levels for a new manager.
On a side note, no amount of compensation could cover for the impact McK has made.
Unlikely to replace him with someone who can lift up the entire club, raise player performance to such high levels. Make us attractive to watch, high scoring but hard to beat. And all with a quiet determination and utter professionalism.

I can't help but feel that IF McKenna went to Chelsea he would want to have Hutchinson available to him.

If McKenna stays at Town we finish mid table next season.
Give him three more years and he'll have Town pushing for Europe. That's the project goal. Why not? Aim for the stars and if you miss you may still reach the moon.
