Ironic cheers upon JETs depature... 22:10 - Aug 18 with 1894 viewsDrGreenThumb

Absolutely ridiculous! Couldn't believe my ears.

We lacked a little bit of quality in the final third today but essentially dominated one of the best teams in the league. If we keep on playing like that, we'll demolish the weaker teams!

Lee Martin MOM. Tireless and a constant threat. Gave 100% and deserved to score the winner. Shame he couldn't quite finish it but that probably summed up our afternoon.

Sorry, it doesn't work like that.

I'm a big JET supporter and believer and I didn't ironically cheer his departure, but he did have an absolute stinker today. Loose touches, indecisiveness, missed placed passes, almost non existant heading and a refusal to move when team mates are clearly shouting at him to make a run!
I was stunned at just how bad he was!

I know he will come good and I still regard him as an important player for us, but I struggle to think of many poorer performances by a forward. Very dissapointing, but everyone has off days.

Had Scotland been introduced at half time I think we would of won the game.

There's no doubt how had an awful game, he and Carson were the main reason we struggled in the final third IMO. But ironically cheering as he leaves the field isn't going to help in any way whatsoever. I'm just thankful it was a confident player like JET rather than someone when could have been really affected by it.

He clearly didn't relish being double marked by two players who were very good at doing so, and I think his head dropped as a result. Mick Mills kept saying his captain should give him some words of encouragement - spot on Mick.

Was sitting in section 6 of Sir Bobby stand for the first time in a while and couldn't believe the abuse people give to our own players and every opposition player is a fxxxxxg Cxxt. There is just no need for it

Frankly some of our fans are morons, they always seem to want to target someone.

Think some supporters need to realise what the word supporter actually entails.

P.S. It's not booing someone 60 minutes into the new season.

For the last 10 minutes Carson wasn't being marked at all on the right and was a reason we improved I think. Their defender probably saw JET go off and think job done.

I wasn't there today. But all playrs will have off days, as you say. JET will have more good than bad days.

He's a young player who needs encouragement. He and Martin will be big players for us this season.

I was at the match and the thing that annoyed me was that before JET even touched the ball there was the odd couple of morons shouting the usual 'Lazy' type of abuse, which got louder and louder as his confidence dropped throughout the game.

I am a JET fan, and it was obvious he had a terrible game and needed to be subbed. But how hard is it to get behind a player and give him a confidence boost instead of openly wanting him to fail? Pathetic.

Good man. It is simply baffling to me that people seem to think doubt, and outright abuse, are going to spur someone on. It's clear JET had a bad game, but that all comes down to a few initial mistakes being received unsympathetically - and that damages confidence - once that has happened, mistakes will follow mistakes. In the same way that if good work was praised, good work would follow good work.

I whole heartedly agree. I've never been one for booing or jeering your own players, very counter productive.

I am a fan of Jet but last night he was sending tweets at 1am which at the time I thought was strange for a player with a big match later that day, maybe he was having issues sleeping and that effected him today.

It was very hot last night. I found it hard to sleep and took about 2 and a half hours to dose off.
