I think we might walk away, now. Derby clearly value him more than we're willing to pay. The thing is, their cutting off their nose despite their face, a bit. Davies doesn't want to be there. He'll leave for nothing, next summer. They'd be better off taking something now.
If it was me, I'd make one final bid (the same amount as out current bid) just before the window closes. Take it or leave it. If not, maybe get him for a cut price in Jan. We definitely need someone of his ilk, but we shouldn't over pay for him. |  |

I just don't understand Derby, they are holding out for a fee which we wont pay, it seems we're the only ones in for him. This time next year he will have walked away for free unless we can meet in this transfer window. If the window closes and we go back in during the January window then surely the fee will be even less than now. Bizarre as he also doesn't really appear to be in their first team plans and they're trying to make a sizable profit on a player who has hardly been a regular. It's a bit odd, I don't think too many clubs would take the same stance if they had a similar situation. |  | | |

Surely for Derby, it's a case of letting him go and getting him off the payroll as much as the fee itself. I don't understand this at all, we've been chasing him for months now, surely his agent should be putting pressure on the Club on his behalf, he must be pretty fed up with this by now.....the Clubs can't be that far away in terms of a fee surely.. |  | | |

They don't need to make any decision though until the last day of the window.
If I was them, I would wait until the last minute of the 31st before accepting whatever offer is on the table. Derby would obviously prefer to keep him, but if he is going to go, they want as mucH cash as possible this summer. And, who knows who else might come in after the first 2-3 matches of the season? |  |
