Anyone else remember that game vividly? I recall they battered us for most of the game and Whitton scuffed one in late on....cue massive celebration in the away end. Final whistle went and tannoy announced that Blackburn had lost (our closest challengers at that time)...cue more wild celebrations. That was the game that i really started to believe that it was our season.

I remember listening to it on the radio and going a bit mad when we scored as it was so late.
They still managed to beat us at PR later that month though. Our only home defeat in the calendar year 1992. |  |

Me too. I thought we dominated, but the view from the away end was so poor it was hard to tell.
Didn't they have a young David James in goal then who came and claimed everything in the air?

I also remember getting very excited that that was going to be our season. I also remember listening to the Sunderland (Away) game on the radio a few weeks later. I think we got done 3-0 or 3-1 and remember thinking that maybe we were going to blow it. |  |

He was excellent as he was in the return game at PR a game we some how managed to lose to the delight of my Watford supporting friends, who I had offered to give a lift home, nothing worse that gloating away fans in close quaters for a couple of hours. | | | |

Oxford was great fun.
What a day.
Celebrating on the pitch with the players and then waiting for John Lyall to speak to us all before heading home.
Brighton game was also (obviously) a great day as was the victory parade through the town the following day (pretty sure it was the next day). | |

Was it really as attacking as 8-1-1 I don't remember there being that many people in midfield or attack!
I was at the Watford game too Whitton did the sum total of FA for the entire game apart from sticking the ball in the net.
