What we've wanted for years is a midfielder who can pass and create, we've never been short of cloggers.

You really can't see the fuss?! N'Daw is the Championship's version of Papa Bouba Diop in his pomp. In the modern day game where strength, desire and power are vital he has all the attributes to be a big presence in the middle of the park at this level. He stopped Leadbitter and co. from playing yesterday and kept the ball ticking over when possible.

I would say the only time he was really abysmal was when he came in and wasn't match fit? You don't become a Senegalese international by being average [Post edited 3 Feb 12:13]

He's been an integral part of the worst midfield we've ever had. Call me old fashion but I like midfielders who can pass. He was ok yesterday, nobody had a bad game, but people bang on about him like he's this great player, when the truth is he's reminiscent of Georges Santos when he played in midfield for us.

We've always had rubbish cloggers though, Hyam aside.

He was abysmal the three home games previous to yesterday.

Used to think you were one of the more knowledgeable posters on here but to compare N'Daw to Santos who played League One for much of his career and not at top flight and international level is just ridiculous.

When the opposition packed the midfield and we were overrun? His one weakness is his mobility and against more dynamic passing sides that can be exposed. It's always a challenge having to deal with an extra man in the middle but we coped pretty well yesterday.

Although they're both a little over the top, I'd say my comparison is far closer to the truth than yours. It's all about opinions of course, but I just find it staggering that people can heap such praise on a player who has been part of such a bad midfield.

N'Daw and Santos; that's the worst comparison I have ever seen. For one N'Daw can play and was never voted the worst player to pull on the jersey, unlike Santos was at Grimsby. N'Daw won't do anything that stands out or makes highlight reels, but sheer work rate and the ability to break down opponents attacks before they start is what we have needed for some years. How many goals did we concede to counter attacks last year compared to this, that would be an interesting stat.
| I have an addiction on 14:35 - Feb 3 with 400 views | itfcptc | I think he's a very good player and hope that we sign him because he has great authority in the Midfield, breaks play up and keeps it ticking quite well with simple passes. But he has impressed and frustrated for me in equal measure, in the occassions I have seen him I don't think I've ever seen an ITFC player give away possession so much unnecessarily. His forward passing at times is appauling. Like I said he's a very good player and if he sticks to his strengths is extremely effective but in equal measure he can be awful on the ball. We either need to find a creative/playmaker midfield partner for him or Mick needs to tell him to stick to what he's good at rather than trying to be a creative force just be the midfield enforcer who breaks up play and keeps the game flowing [Post edited 3 Feb 14:35]

N daw and Wordsworth in the middle n daw to break up the play , Wordsworth to create has to be the way forward , yes I know it means leaving the local lad out but there is no room for sentiment , you have to have a creative player in centre midfield , then u have to decide who is the better option of n daw or Hyamm , bit of a no brainer really

I don't know if leaving him out of a starting line up is a bad thing, I honestly think N'Daw and Wordsworth in the center could be one of the best partnerships next season, given the next few months to gel. Hyam is more than a suitable back up, getting lots of playing time and being allowed to develop behind N'Daw, he is a different player in many ways, but could do the same job with very similar qualities. The one we could leave out is Drury, I really haven't seen a player give the ball away as much as him at any club. I wish I could have a DVD of his first touch so I could use it educate my players on what not to do. The only issue I see is wages, can we afford him full time? I know we can't approach anyone in England just yet, but isn't he out of contract in the summer, and if so we can approach him now and offer him a deal. I can't help but wonder if the wages has stopped us doing this so far. [Post edited 3 Feb 17:13]
