I was not at all sure about Monk. He'd only managed the one club, somewhere he'd also played and been embedded for many years. I felt he needed to prove himself somewhere else as well to get rid of that nagging doubt that, however good, he was another Eddie Howe (outstanding at Bournemouth, less so elsewhere).
To be fair, Monk has completely vindicated himself at Leeds. |  |

Bridcutt was hopeless for Sunderland in the Prem. They would struggle big time at the higher level. TBH I think its by and large the same average team that beat us 1-0 in a dour game that have gathered momentum and are now playing with their tails up and with confidence |  | | |
