His parents were his parents, if you see what I mean. But I'd forgotten they'd done that before.

Thought last week was very good. Tonight's was a bit self indulgent, IMHO, I got a bit bored in the middle of it.

Good moments tonight and did a good job of being a finale spectacle but did lag a bit at times. Just about managed to stay on the right side of the complex/convoluted line. Much better than last year's effort.

Thought last week's v. good, but the first & tonight's completely self-indulgent & ridiculous, apart from the last 5 mins tonight which I thought actually a v. good wrap - forever for the Cumberbatch version of Sherlock, I hope.

Agree...this series was mostly complete twaddle....seems to have gone down the same convoluted path that Dr. Who went down. Get back to solving mysteries Sherlock...

This is the first of this series that I watched any of, it didn't completely hold my attention. I saw who redbeard was but have no idea if they got the plane down safely.

You mean the plane that never existed being flown by the dog that never existed? The drone which got into 221b and flew perfectly with a grenade attached? Jumping threw a window into busy Baker Street without a scratch? How did Watson get down the well? Were all the guards under Euros power? Etc etc....Complete poppycock

I switched completely off when the dead dog turned out to be a dead brother. Was that all imaginary? And the plane wasn't real either?

Keep up Geoff, it wasn't a dead brother, just a dead friend called Bob,who his sister was jealous of and killed. And then somehow Sherlock forgot he'd had a friend and thought he'd had a dog all along...or something.

There was however, one glorious redeeming moment - in fact moment of all the series ever for me - Mrs Hudson doing a Freddie Mercury joyful hoovering impersonation!! The later "I want to break free" sequence from Moriarty in shades getting out of the chopper was also pretty good. Think the scriptwriters must be Queen fans.

All of Moffat's villains are exactly the same. Super geniuses who talk really fast and change inflection halfway through sentences. He's getting as insufferable as Aaron Sorkin.
