If McCarthy does go... 08:43 - Jan 22 with 1693 viewsCharlieITFC

I'm genuinely interested to know what everyone thinks a new manager would do with our youngsters coming through?

One thing it feels like may be happening (albeit slower than we'd like) is that the younger players are featuring more, and I just worry, would someone new come in and not fancy the likes of Emmanuel, Kenlock, Dozzell, Bishop? Generally managers want their own players...

Just interested to know what others think?

I imagine it would be one of the prerequisites of taking us on, to continue to try and the youngsters.

A new manager needs to come in to deliver on the 5 point plan. They should work under a DOF who is responsible for its implementation. As that will take time, we need an interim manager to the end of the season while the framework is put in place.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

To quote MM we are in a false position. I see our next 7 or so games has extremely tough and downwards the only realistic direction. Could get ugly. Preston look a good side recently too.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

The man I want to come in (until atleast the end of the season) would happily play those young lads, giving them the freedom to express themselves with the ball at feet.

paul clement was my first choice ages ago

obviously the elite shouted me down

"he was a failure at derby" etc etc

burley with a younger version working alongside could work

Why? Most incoming managers get a 'bounce'. We don't need many points to stay clear of trouble this season.

Has there ever been an instance of a manager coming out of retirement and being successful?

Alcohol is the answer but I can't remember the question!

Most teams sack managers for not getting the best out of the players.

I just don't think Mick could get much more from this bunch. Someone coming in and trying to play actual football with them will possibly do worse.
