Bids in for him according to Sky Sports..

"Wigan have made a £750,000 offer for Grimsby striker Omar Bogle, according to Sky sources.

We understand the fee could rise to £1m with add-ons for the current leading scorer in Sky Bet League Two.

Grimsby have already rejected three bids in the region of £850,000 for the striker."

Not sure if we are in the picture or not.. Though the prices being mentioned should mean that we are.

I think we could afford him but not convinced we're massively interested. Scout who watched him on Saturday wasn't Dave Bowman or someone else higher up the chain. Also an insider from another club suggested they'd looked at him and didn't think he was ready for the Championship.

If we are ready to throw £2 at Ward and Hugill then it would suggest that the money is there.

The issue is whether Mick and his team think he would be worth what is being mentioned, which seems unlikely otherwise we would have gone and got him already

Not seen him personally but the reports on here are mixed. Good goal scorer at that level, some concerns whether he can step up or not.

That's what you get with a League Two striker though, totally unknown whether he can cut it a few leagues up, but even these guys are fetching big money now, big money for us anyway...

Where do you go if you can't compete for players bang in form from the lower leagues?

Worrying..

Two TWTD articles mention it:

If by "official" you mean either of the clubs directly then you're asking for something that can't be given - no club officially announces the fee bid for players at this stage. You said "like £2m" as well, and we've been reported to have put in £1m+ bids in for a few players, so I'm not sure why you need to make up that we're not bidding these sorts of figures.

Whether it's enough or for the right players is a different matter.
