He masterminded the emphasis on an integrated Academy approach at Watford. His tactics *may* have been about getting more bang for considerably less bucks, particularly in the Prem. I'm willing to reserve judgement, at least he has a track record in developing and bringing on young players. |  | | |

When he was Colchester and Northampton manager he did similar though - the footy at Colchester made us look like Brazil.
Plus all that w@nky cod physcolofy - painted opposition dressing room a dark colour, boxed over all their power points etc so they couldn't plug stuff in and just generally nobbish things like that - rather than develop footballers.
And when you watch his sides at U19 and 20 level recently for England it's long ball stuff again.
A friend of a friend played under him at Norwich and said he is an excellent man manager though - made him feel 10 feet tall. So there is room for him in the game - but his football philosophy just doesn't fit the 'England DNA' that the FA have probably spent millions developing | |
