What the hell is going to happen at the end of the season when Lawrence returns to Leicester.

We'll bring someone else in I expect.

People said this in 2014/15.

Usually when one bloke is banging them in, it's a sign others around him are providing assists and play that help him do that.

There's more of a case this time, given how unsettled the side has been.

Could we possibly afford to buy anyone that good? If not, we'll have to keep loaning them season-by-season. And if we gain a reputation for helping young players to develop, clubs will be happy to see them come to Town.

One game (actually half) doesn't change the fact that pretty much all season we've relied on him - does it?

Indeed. Fraser looked irreplaceable last season but we've gone and got Lawrence and he's arguably been even better. We will get someone again next season, assuming (as is likely) Lawrence won't be here.

perhaps, for now, we should just enjoy the fact that we are winning.

That's a bit revisionist. It took him a good couple of months to really get going, but he's been mustard since December.

Well before that we were a zero man team so I thought it'd be nicer to not go into it.

For the season, probably not permanently.

Pretty problematic that for two seasons running we've had to rely on a loan player. We have been fortunate to get people like Fraser and Lawrence, I doubt we'll get so lucky next year. We need to find someone of our own.

Easier said than done on our budget.

Well, not of their quality, but if we're gonna really advance I'd rather get someone in who's below their level and make them work as a team better rather than airdropping someone in who's never going to stay.

Two ways of looking at it. Williams, Fraser, Lawrence all might have been the one thing to push us over the line in any given season.

Not having those sorts of quality players is a risk in some respects. In an ideal world we'd be signing them and having them as our own. But waiting another 2-3 years from the moment they are put in the team at 19 or so might take a fair while.

Even if Lawrence was our own player, do you think we'd be able to hang onto him this summer? And would most of the £10-15M we'd get for him be reinvested in a quality replacement? No and probably not.

So in a way, it doesn't really matter whether he's our player or not. In fact, if he was ours, we probably would have sold him last week.

Exactly, both goals came from great build up play. First one was brilliant from Huws to quickly push out (as opposed to a hoof) and play Lawrence through. Second another brilliant through ball from Didz
