No keypad tones are allowed on phones in any public situation. £500 fine 2. Physical cash to be phased out. 3. Nationwide education on how to use the word done. [Post edited 18 Feb 2017 13:44]

Once you have an account balance it's digital. This is why casinos use chips and now lots of slots use 'points' rather than money. You can now open up a game to see you have 3000 points rather than £30. It's much easier to be 1000 points a spin than bet £1 per spin. One good thing your idea would do though is stop instant deposits to chase losses. |
Surely the chasing losses is the key element though? People don't become problem gamblers (on the whole) if they just spend what they have in their account, it's when more and more goes in at the click of a button that it becomes a problem. You just have to look how much money gambling companies are making - the majority of that is just taking money from the poor.

After extensive research I've found I can stretch to a tub of Value brand per household. Vanilla. Flavoured by beaver additive.

Good point. I was probably thinking along slightly different lines because as a matched bettor I have about 15 funded accounts at the moment. For people with one account it would be a reasonable solution. A complete pain in the arse to people like me who move money about constantly depending on where the offers at etc but i'd be happy if that was brought in. Several bookies already offer a card system where you can pay in and cash out but it's obviously not the only option.

Would you support my motion to have a referendum on moving the May and August bank holidays to Wednesday? Would be much healthier and more enjoyable IMO. If not, i'll need to find a new Deputy Prime Minister.

You haven't heard the last of this. Will you at least ban pensioners from supermarkets at weekends? Remember it's a considerable concession for me to make it weekends and not evenings and weekends.

Just to make it clear, Libero told me to leave it, I agreed and light-heartedly commented that at least I couldn't therefore be accused of the "running away" which you normally throw at me when I politely explain that I'm off out to walk dog, keep an appointment or whatever. So - caned for both *not* leaving it, and *for* leaving it, typical!

That's not even remotely the same as giving addicts free heroine just because they're addicts

I prefer waitrose as it is less stressful. There is also the chance you might overhear hilariously middle class conversations. 'We'll be the laughing stock of the point to point if we don't at least bring a bottle of Tatty'.

The problem I've got with this post is how you make it sound like because I enjoy a bet at 18 and I've 'started early' it means I'm going to definetely become hooked and 'believe I'll win more bets than I lose'. Never do I believe that at all. I aim to make a profit but if not, oh well. I enjoy a Friday night at the dogs and coincidentally that's the only time I have made any consistent profit. The Saturday racing in the long term I'm probably down. Am I bothered? Not at all. I enjoyed the time spent studying the form and watching the races. The majority are like me that gamble. Just an extra to our lives - not a thing at the forefront hooker into problems
