Buying a domain... 18:59 - Feb 19 with 3013 views

Anyone on here clued up how to do it? I'm trying to understand it all but it's getting a bit confusing...servers etc etc!?!

I have used 123-reg.co.uk to buy and manage my domains. I then point them to another company who offer webhosting. I have been using bluehost but am about to change as their costs are too high for what i want to do.

fasthost looks like a good option, but it will depend on how much traffic you expect. If its a fully working ecommerce site then you will need fast hosting / good speed however if it just a business card type website (i.e. showing what service you offer rather than interaction on the website) then you can do with less.

Yes I have the Ruby package.

Currently I have 8 sites running through them and am working on two others.

Support is second to none. Downtime is minimal, I'm very happy with them.
