Hardly. If last season hadn't happened and he'd had this seasons results he'd have been sacked months ago

So if reality was different then his outcome may have been different. I mean it works but that doesn't explain anything.

Not sure I follow your point - I was just responding to the suggestion that he's a victim of his own success, which I disagree with as I think his incredible success earned him a far longer stay of execution than he would have got otherwise EDIT: Good to see you back on here BTW [Post edited 23 Feb 2017 20:26]

I do not know how I would react if I was a Leicester fan but from the outside I think that sacking him is the only thing that MIGHT keep them in the PL.

They'd be rewarded with stupid amounts of failure payments anyway tbf.

I've just seen a lot of the whole "well if it wasn't for last season, he'd have been sacked". Well yeah, but that's not the reality, the reality is he did win the title. So it doesn't really matter what would have happened if he didn't. Personally I think he'd have kept them up. Think he deserved a chance at the full season considering he pulled off an utter miracle. And thanks. Not going to be posting as much but popping on sometimes during the evenings.

They would but a Championship club is not as attractive as a PL club in Malaysia or wherever it is that their Owners are from.
Ranieri Sacked on 20:34 - Feb 23 with 2353 views | The_Romford_Blue | Feel for him. If a manager won us the premiership, I'd prefer letting him stay on (even if we could be relegated like Leicester) than sack the man that brought us the title

I normally agree with you on all things football, CHIAP but that's rubbish. They've been mid table until the last month and then tumbled badly. So until a month ago, and last freak season aside, the best they've been since Martin on Neil, previously the best manager in their history,

Well welcome intermittently back at least I think you've either missed my point or I've not been clear. I agree fully that he deserved lots of time due to last season. As you rightly say, last season did happen and clearly he deserves incredible credit for it My issue was with the suggestion that he's a victim of his own success, whereas in my view he was (rightly) given longer because of it, not shorter. If he'd been sacked because Leicester were now 8th that argument would have weight, but not in these circumstances

And precisely why Sheepshanks should've sacked Burley at this stage in the season when we were towards the bottom of the Prem. If he had relegation would have been avoided and then administration

Interesting. I backed burley through that dire season. Though he should be given the chance to get us back up as well. Quickly lost faith in division 2.

It was obviously no accident(/fluke) they won the league. But it's no accident they're where they are right now, 1 point off the relegation area only taking 5 out of the last 30 possible points. They seriously looked like they were going to be relegated. I don't like that they sacked him, but from an owner's point of view it makes sense. As said above by others if they hadn't won the league probably would have been sacked a while ago. I hope they go down now and that all those juicy mega deals they gave to some players don't have relegation reduction clauses in them.
