Pious Brentford fans moaning about our thuggish, physical style on 16:03 - Mar 2 by GeoffSentence | It wasn't a bad tackle at all. Judge had lost control of it completely, Hyam had every right to go for it, Judge stuck his leg out and planted studs in the grass. It was that which caused the problem, not Hyam's tackle which was the sort of thing you see in every football match. |
From recollection Judge himself was pretty philosophical about the tackle and didn't think that there was any malice in it

Hyam won the ball and it was unfortunate that Judge had planted his foot the way he had and it took the brunt of Hyam's momentum. You see challenges like that pretty much every week. The real horror tackle in that game was the one on Hyam that he then reacted to for his second yellow. It was a blatant leg breaker and should've been a straight red. The ref wasn't going to take any action against Hyam initially for the Judge challenge, he only did so when the Brentford players had berated him and he realised Judge was hurt and thought he must have missed something. The reaction of their players and manager was appalling.

Agree with your post, but also suspect that tomorrow's game would not be a good opportunity to bring back Hyam!

Pious Brentford fans moaning about our thuggish, physical style on 13:56 - Mar 2 by LankHenners | Presumably they're also still unable to see how disgusting their players were in deliberately trying to get Hyam sent off before high-fiving each other when it inevitably happened. |
McCormack is out, but Woods is still in their team and they were the main architects of the Hyam sending off. Mick could of taken Hyam off, when it became apparent they were targeting him, so think trying to see him through to HT was hopeful at best. Really don't like Brentford as a result of last season. The injury to Judge, before the Euros was a terrible thing. But for their manager, players and fans to suggest that Hyam deliberately set out to injure him was disgraceful. I've never been Hyams biggest fan, but it was a strong committed tackle that won the ball.
