In 2014/15, Hearts total wage bill for their squad was £64k a week - if he is offered £8-10k here which is what his option will be then he is priced out of a move there.
Our wage bill in 2015/16 was double what Rangers was, so likely we'd price him out of a move there too.
Scottish clubs are skint, their TV deal is terrible and anyone who thinks we would get a fee for Berra is dreaming, all triggering an extra year would do would mean he'd stay as one of our top earning players. |  |

You're right that Scottish football, even Rangers, is cash strapped as their TV deal is worth very little. Celtic have 10,000 larger ground capacity & also have pocketed the huge CL bounty again. I believe Rangers' annual wage bill is £10m. | |
