I wonder whether they'll continue with the previous editor's laughable line that the paper is meticulously non-partisan and completely unbiased.
Given that the Standard is a freesheet given out in a largely Labour-voting city, I'm not really sure how Lebedev comes to the conclusion that Osborne's viewpoint will 'closely match' that of its readership. City AM would have been a better match, although from what I've seen of that newspaper, it's possibly a bit too honest for Osborne's liking.
The most fun I get out reading the Standard is the 'spot the Lebedev' challenge. I've only come across two editions recently that didn't have a picture of him in. |  | | |

There is also the reverse conflict of interest. Any criticism of the government will be maginified by 100 because it's from the former Chancellor. | |
