Have you ever looked at how well he's represented his contituents over the years & how much illness he has overcome?

Agree with him or not.

He spends more time in the h.o.c than almost anyone. He gets up early to reserve his favourite seat. His claims for expenses are low. He has been consistent in his views and is always ready to make a point. His constituents love him.

Couldn't see him ever doing a second job either.

Probably the best constituency MP in the land.

It's 106 miles to Portman Road, we've got a full tank of gas, half a round of Port Salut, it's dark... and we're wearing blue tinted sunglasses.

I disagree with him on almost everything, but he is a proper MP, and not a downright liar, crook or shyster, unlike like a very large number of them.

Liberals despise him because he reminds them of the world they have created.

Conventional wisdom is the enemy of thought.

Sure he is loyal to his job and he has unfortuantely battled illness over the, however that does not necessary make him a nice person or automatically give him my support. You need to earn that,

I dont like how he goes about his business, how he presents himself, when he talks and the wholte charade of getting thrown out of the HoC etc. Everytime i hear him speak, i know he does not represent me or speaks in a manner that i would.

It a simple choice, hes just not my type of guy. Doesnt mean he cant connect with others though, just not for me.

Liberals ?

As to DS I had the privilige to meet him in St Jmaes Park back in the 80's. He was sat eating his sandwiches Struck me as a very genuine bloke. Can't say I disagree with his idea that those who actually do the work should get a bigger share of what they produce.

Reading some of the hypocritical posts on here it isn't hard to see why we (UK) are in such a mess

Watched him over the years and nothing I have seen has changed my thoughts on him. Still only takes a wage based on what the bloke still doing his original job is now getting. Refuses any 'hospitality' as there's no such thing as a free lunch, similarly a ministerial post as that would be to tie him to the party line

Maybe that sort of stuff is wrong and the likes of the sh its like Osborne and the useless, expense scrounging ponce Farage are what is what all politicians should be. Or as some would have it.

His final words were something of the order of " well, i'm paid to be in there, and not look at the ducks so I better get back ". I did think long afterwards that there was a great opportunity for a gag, but no.

And when I see how so many still live in the UK (and parts of Suffolk) maybe we need a few more like him to represent them - not their own interests and bank account.
