Blackburn, Burton and Forest all have winnable home fixtures tomorrow while we are trying for a 0-0 at Cardiff. Worrying times.

Good job Birmingham will probably lose to Newcastle then.
Having said that life would have been easier if Huddersfield had turned up tonight.

A staggering result, what on earth happened there?

I would say we're a loss away from chaos

Think they were probably knocked for six by the Jonathan Hogg incident and never recovered from that.

We're going to have to hope that Birmingham hang on to Zola. But, as I said on another thread, if we don't go down this season we'll probably do so next year.

That injury certainly seemed to affect them but even before that they had not started very brightly.

What happened?

Hogg lost a shoulder-to-shoulder and his head collided with a chest of a teammate (Hudson?) It twisted his neck right round; he was down for 15 minutes whilst they treated him. Sounds like he's going to be alright, thank goodness.

Huddersfield have been excellent recently, how have they been humped by such an awful side?

So Bristol win a few of their remaining games. That just pushes Brentford, QPR, Birmingham, Wolves and Blackburn further down - all teams around or below us whom they still have to play.

Them overtaking us (if it happens) is likely to be irrelevant.

With respect, nobody overtaking us is irrelevant. It means one less to reel us in.

Tho, given they've already played us twice, the act of catching up will drag others in. They rise above, others drop below. Especially if we keep chugging along like we have been. Taking points off the teams I mentioned may actually do us a favour.

I think we'll muddle through this season, but next year could prove to be a bit of an ordeal.

'...we keep chugging along like we have been.'

Nail on head, that's what we do, 'keep chugging along', hardly inspiring next season's season ticket sales though, no ambition, no incentive, no passion anymore...

We just chug along, so sad.

We could be 3 points off relegation zone at end of play today. Not that dramatic.

Sure, if we lose and every side below us wins. That's not all that likely though and even in that unlikely event, a 4 point cushion at this stage with two winnable home games coming up on the back of what would only be one defeat in nine games still doesn't qualify as 'chaos', in my opinion. We've not had a 9 game run in the league all season where we've averaged under a point a game, we'd need significantly worse than that over the next 9 games to be in real trouble in terms of getting relegated. I think people subconsciously exaggerate our plight as us being in 'chaos' or a 'dog fight' is much more interesting than the reality, which is that we are painfully dull and turgid.
