Parliament in lockdown but the PM is away out apparently.

Edit. Guido has some pretty graphic footage of injured people on the road. Reports of 5 people run down.

Sounds like it is on Westminster Bridge rather than right outside the Houses of Parliament. No indication for reason yet...

Sounds like a car mowed people down on the bridge, then crashed into some gates outside parliament, driver jumped out and attacked police with a knife before being shot.

Yeah looks pretty amateur, if that's the end of it then appears the police locked it down pretty efficiently.

Amateur seems to be the effective way these days. Much harder to infiltrate random lone wold attacks like Berlin and Marseilles.

Although it still takes more than just an impulse to reach that level. This is interesting as is Burke's book from which I think it comes.

So much damage that can be cause by a single person, with no training, no funding, no planning and everyday objects. And nothing we can do to stop them.

When we get told that our secret service has stopped numerous attacks it does make you think they can only do so much, and incidents like this are so tough to avoid.

Unfortunately, certain media outlets will use this as an excuse for political gain, whilst I'm sure Le Pen isn't too worried every time a terrorist hit takes place.

Very limited damage, really. Once you have anti-vehicle bollards round major gatherings, they're reduced to a few people in the street and individual stabbings.

So far, thankfully, the only reported fatality appears to have been the perpetrator.

Latest on the link you posted fro The Guardian indicates at least two 'terrorists' and, reading the report from the 70 year old with the newspaper kiosk as literal, that it was the same vehicle on Westminster Bridge that then drove into the railings as Parliament.

But lone wolves also lack the moral support and encouragement of an organised group, driving them on to act.
