Question is, what points do we take from these two games?

MM seems to be retreating back in his shell, so is more keen not to lose than actually go for 3 points. Imagine both games will be dreadful to watch, with poor quality on show. I think each match will end in a draw and we're still very much in the mire.

Think we need to win at least one of them - 3 points minimum for me, would want 4 though.

I have a terrible feeling about the Brum game but a good feeling about the Wigan game

So I'll go 3

I think a lot depends on who is fit.

If Didzy and Lawrence are actually injured and not just withdrawn from International games, we will struggle.

With just Pitman, Sears and Moore as our striking force, where are the goals coming from? Are there any lads from the academy who can step up?

I would like to say we can get 4 points from the two games but I think that is my heart speaking and not my brain!

2 points. 1-1 draw in both games.

Four.

Two or three and we'll just prolong the agony, whereas four - or even six - lift us far enough away from that remaining relegation place.

MM has made the point numerous times that it is better not to lose points than to go out to win and actually lose the game.
Hence I anticipate the next two home games will be a matter of not loosing no matter how ugly the football is

Issue is that when we go behind we don;t have the set up to take the game to the other team. Playing for a draw at home against a relegation rival pretty much sums it all up.

1 point for me - nowt against brum, a bore draw against Wigan.

Two draws will keep us ticking over, a win from one of those probably see us safe (given the other games remaining, including Rotherham).

Good Lord! Whatever is it?

I would be happy with 3 although I expect 2.

I know you are doom and gloom but I think 4 points will keep us up.

If we win Saturday we will take 6 points, we will beat Wigan. First back to back wins of the season.

We will then be safe and start planning for next season, MM will confirm he is leaving!!!

There'll be songs constantly ringing from the newly energised fans, season ticket renewals will see a massive upsurge and the world will be a truly wonderful place to be.

I'm hoping for 6 but fully admit I'm being very over confident especially as Mick will grind out draws at every opportunity now. It will be a terrible game on Saturday two teams with zero confidence and form battling it out. If we go a goal behind were stuffed!

2 draws.

Little chance to win these matches when playing with 7 defenders.

Six or two.

Win the first game and McCarthy will surely see a decent opportunity to put it to bed. Draw and he will go into the Wigan game nervous and set up to defend. Lose...well...I don't know.

These two games really are massive. It looks extremely tricky if we only take 1-2 points from them.

The ideal scenario is to score an early goal against Birmingham, settle the nerves and MM to understand we can't then shut up shop.

Truly impaired.

6 Points..

Home matches against sides lower than us have never been our strong suit but think we'll do enough to edge out a pretty comically poor Birmingham side 2-1 and then go into the Wigan game and repeat the same trick

Although, it's worth noting that against Cardiff he did try to be more positive - he swapped the back 5 for a back 4 and brought an extra striker on at half time. And we got hammered at the back as a result.

I suspect he'll revert to a more defensive approach again - it seems to be the only way we can stay in games. Then rely on Lawrence to do something with the scraps he gets.

Déjà vu from last season... except swap Lawrence for Fraser

And the season before, swap Murph for Fraser. Bit of a pattern emerging!
