Vinyl clever clogs... 15:18 - Mar 27 with 1001 views

I want to replace my needle (as I haven't done it since buying my system a few years ago), but I was wondering, is there any particular type I have to get, or can I just buy a 'stock' needle?

I had to replace mine this weekend as it happens. I only have a Crosley player, but you should be able to find a needle for your player by doing a quick google/search on amazon.

Chances are it'll be specific to the make, but not the actual model if that makes sense. Let us know how you get on, as it'll be interesting to know.

Funnily enough that's who I ended up messaging and got lots of help from Chris. He's who I bought the player off but it didn't have an instruction manual.

All sorted now - I had to match it to the model number..fairly obvious really....

I have a Pioneer Turntable from the 80's (yes the Ipswich Sponsorship helped my choice - I was bit shallow back then!!). I simply put the model number into Google and added stylus and the exact one came up - I bought a couple of spares.
To be honest I am thinking of an upgrade to my turntable and have been told I would hear the difference at a £500 price point. However I don't want to end up on an expensive gravy train of replacing Speakers and amp as well and I actually like the nostalgia value of my Pioneer!! Sorry to get off topic but I love the vinyl revival.

I've just got into my collecting again. I built up quite a collection as a teenager, but sold a lot of them 8 or 9 years ago when I needed some money quite quickly and have regretted it ever since!

I've been slowly building it back up, and I use www.discogs.com to track down hard to find gems.

Such a wonderful site!
