Yeah it's not bad but mains are poor.

I actually live on eccy road and haven't been yet, probably because I live practically next to taco bell. Will give it a try some time

Taco bell is still great (Notts and sheffield) in a different way albeit not as good as in usa [Post edited 28 Mar 2017 22:31]

I wouldn't give Taco Bell food to my dog. It's utter garbage.

Lots of people don't. That's partly why the town centre's in such a piss-poor state. [Post edited 29 Mar 2017 10:48]

Toby Carvery isn't in the town though. So Brighton, Southampton, Bristol, Nottingham etc are all sh1te because they have a Toby?

Quite right. I had one on holiday a few years ago, then we went and played crazy golf. I had to abandon the round half-way through as I was rather ill.

Just the same kind of basic niceties many other towns and cities have that boost the economy, create jobs and make the place more enjoyable for everyone. I do have to wonder how often anyone who defends Ipswich as a town leaves it to visit other places (and if they do, how often they bother to explore said places outside of the usual chain shops and Spoons pubs).

I've never lived in Ipswich. I think it's ok. It's got enough going on, some really good pubs and enough good restaurants. It's on the national touring map for comedy and some music. House prices are reasonable for a place an hour from London by train. The seaside is 20 minutes away and Suffolk countryside even less. I don't know about youth culture and young adults nightlife, but it's perfectly good for its size for older adults.
