The sad fact is that people like facters and Dryas want Brexit to fail. They will be extremely disappointed if we don't go into recession. Thankfully they aren't representative of the majority who voted remain.

I see we're still trying to unite the country this morning then.

i don't think it's my job to unite the country. I'm just a bloke on a football message board pointing out that there are a couple of swivel eyed loons who are desperate for Brexit to fail. Those are the sad facts and they are the people who don't want a United country. Do you think facters posts since June last year are words of unity? Thankfuly they are unrepresentative of the majority of people who voted remain. [Post edited 29 Mar 2017 7:48]

Anyone who hasn't noticed David Davis is out of his depth and is looking for reverse gear isn't paying attention.

Pah, what's Germany compared to the deals we're going to strike up with Burkina Faso and Tuvalu. Trouble is, we're going to have this sort of publicity coming out from countries, trade organisations, individual companies and various membership bodies and lobbying agencies from now on (already started - e.g. Nissan, Tata). it's going to be almost impossible to work out from the outside how much of this is real and how much just posturing to secure concessions from the Government. And it's going to take a lot longer to work out what the impact has been and whether we're 'better off' post-Brexit or not. I suspect we'll never know the big picture, but there will be lots of good news and bad news stories, each of which will become the poster child of the respective sides.
