I was bored at work and wondering how bad Sears and McGoldricks lack of goals compared to other regular players. This is goals scored in their last 50 appearances.

Pitman 50/12 McGoldrick 50/7 Chambers 50/4 Douglas 50/3
Sears 50/3 Bru 50/2 Berra 50/1 Smith 50/1
Hyam 50/1 Bishop 50/1 Skuse 50/0

Just makes a mockery of why Pitman has dropped out of favour since the transfer window.

Flounce when ITFC lose, flounce about brexit and flounce about Trump.

If i have this right, Sears scored 14 times in his first 40 odd games then scored 3 times in the next 50 games.

I guess this is what happens when you put the striker into left wing / left back / left on the bench.

Large chunk of those Pitman 'appearances' have been as sub as well! He probably averages a goal every 2-3 matches if you converted his times on field!

Pitman always looks more of a goal threat coming off the bench anyway, for me.

There could be a case for turning Chambo into Ian Marshall mark 2, looking at those figures. He seems like tbe sort who might go along with randomnly changing position for the good of the team, too.

Get to it, Mick!

I think we should focus on trying to play the players in the right positions first and foremost, something we are not keen on.

Absolutely, and that has been the case throughout his career. He is a lot sharper when only on the pitch for twenty minutes or so ( and that isn't just a function of our strikers needing to do a lot of running).

Equates to 32 goals over a full season.

He looked really good at Derby away and changed the game. They were battering us until he came on, but our goal had an invisible force field around it and the ball did everything but cross the line. They could have scored 5 before Half Time, and 3-nil wouldn't have flattered them.

Then Reg came on, got into them a bit, did some nice work bumping into their Centre Backs and generally being a nuisance clattering them and scored.

And then he got bundled out the door. Very odd as he was the only player we had even close to a Murphy replacement.

I agree that Varney was the only player this season that could successfully play anything like the Murphy role and he could certainly have been useful for the last three months or so.

Your second paragraph just confirms what we did that night, defended very well.

Coke and Best, very similar players. Would be great to see them play again at the same club, as long as it's not ours. I'm pretty sure Lavenham has a team, they might be able to compete for a game there. Or alternatively the mighty Rattlesden.
