It's actually pretty worrying just how many people are not renewing 11:35 - Mar 29 with 5859 viewsmaccyd9

Usually people say it (me included) and end up being sucked in for "just one more season".

But this really does look like that's it for many.

I've got approximately 20 mates in one group chat, I'd say about 15 are current season ticket holders and most have been for many years. I think I know of 1 that is definitely renewing but about 8 or 9 that are definitely not.

I'm out aswell unless something changes...and fast. I want Evans out above all else and do actually feel sorry for Mick, but, as a sign of possible intent I could get on board with a new manager. It at least shows that despite being primarily responsible, Evans is aware of our plight and is taking steps to at least try and change it.

As it is we have a manager who appears totally in control of his own future, an owner who has at best lost his bottle and at worst his interest, a Chief Executive who grates every time he speaks and I'd hazard a guess at a record low number of ST holders for next season since the early 90's.

It's a pitiful state which is only going to get worse.

But out of the 12-13k ST holders, how many are represented on TWTD? I don't know, I know plenty on the forum are not local and only go to certain games as and when or quite a few away games due to geographic location.

I can see it panning out in the following way:

- We eventually get the points we need to ensure we stay up, and are mathematically safe with 3-4 games to go, but it will be after the Early Bird deadline (17th April).
- It's announced Mick is leaving (Sacked / Mutual Consent / Resigns - don't really care which).
- Early Bird deadline extended to second week in May.
- Third week in May - new manager appointed. Someone thoroughly underwhelming like Kenny Jackett.
- Jackett has little money to spend to refresh the squad.
- 2017-18 is a relegation battle.
- May 2018, ITFC narrowly go down / stay up.

This is exactly the scenario I have said on here I expect to see. Including the underwhelming Kenny Jackett taking over.

I think we will narrowly stay up next season but go down in 2018/2019.

Surely they'd extend the early bird deadline again once the new manager has been appointed?

Just incase the appointment excites a few people?

I doubt they would extend twice

As the second time would come after a legitimate reason for people to get STs - a new manager. Evans would fancy the extra few quid from those excited by the appointment of Jackett (who would though?)

I did think that, but I'm inclined to agree with Rommy.... ME gets everyone all excited that there will be a new manager so more people renew.

As soon as the second early bird deadline goes, he unleashes Jackett. Or Megson. Or McLeish. I think you can see where I'm going with the list of managers ME is likely to appoint.

Not for one minute will ME think to appoint someone who will get the fans excited - Darrell Clarke with Marcus Stewart as assistant, or Burley as DoF with someone like McGreal learning his trade under him.

Probably do my usual 4/5 aways a season a season still.

If Evans appoints a manager that excites me &/or invests more then I'll be renewing.*

Been saying this for quite some time and when you've got 70% of people saying they aren't renewing on the most popular fansite and 97% of fans saying they don't feel valued by the club on the local paper's website it only feeds fuel to the fire.

I am similar to you Maccy, a lot of those I know aren't renewing or are certainly holding fire hoping (praying more like) for a positive change that gets them enthused enough to renew. These are people that have been going for 15-20 odd years, have supported the club through thick and a lot of thin. People have reached their tipping point, me included. I won't be taken the Mick out of.

I reckon about 10% won't renew in the end leaving with between 10 and 11 thousand season ticket holders.

Deadlines will be extended, Evans and Milne will make some empty promises regarding transfers and McCarthy will resign.

And we will continue heading towards mid table mediocrity in League 1.

Then he will deserve the same statue we wanted to build for Mick a couple of years ago, because we'll be top having spent about £200 grand.

Whether it's Mick, a safe pair of hands, a promotion specialist or an up and coming name - they will be stuffed if they can't work with a lack of money.

They did last year. It was extended to July.

I was annoyed because we bought ours in April and paid in full. We could have had that (nearly) £1000 sitting in our bank accounts for another 3 months instead of lining ME's pockets.

Sadly thats sounds about right. Under Mick our chances of relegation are slim i would like to think, really cant qualify anyone else coping with the regime and funds we have here at present.

That's a very valid point about how representative this Board actually is. The people that come on here have an opinion that they want to air. There are many fans that just keep their views to themselves and it is how they react that will determine the scale of the drop off. Either way I'm fairly sure that ticket revenue will be down next season despite the increases.

To put that in some perspective, however, a loss of 25% on 2016-17 ST numbers would see a total of just 9,000ish sold.
