Something I read about Trump's victory yesterday that I'd not heard before 17:05 - Mar 30 with 1014 viewsconnorscontract

I read an article via Flipbook (so haven't got a link but can do some digging) which said that one of the main reasons Trump won was because of several hundred thousand voters in 3 battleground states had their registrations refused by the incumbent Republican administrations, and that Trump went on to win those states bybless than 20,000 votes in each case. Had Hillary won them then she would have had the Electoral College majority.

Anyone else heard that or know anything about it? Is it fake news?

The have been clear voter suppression efforts in the name of preventing electoral fraud, mainly from the GOP. Given the actual number of reported cases of electoral fraud one might assume that the response is somewhat disproportionate.

Whether that swung the balance for Trump is another matter.

I remember Trump throwing around the fraud allegation (as Farage did just before election day as a way to motivate his voter turnout) but it's the scale here that is mind-boggling, and the direct causal link to Hillary's defeat thatbmakes me wonder why more fuss isn't being made of it.

I'll try and find the article.

This piece by Rev Jesse Jackson says similar to the piece I read:

In Wisconsin 300,000 registered voters couldn't vote because they didn't have the ID required by a recently passed law.

Other states passed laws restricting the hours that polling stations were open, disproportionately impacting on people with inflexible working hours.
