Anyone got one?

I've got the space and thinking of setting one up - won't be much but just a weights bench, some free weights, a punch bag and maybe a couple of kettle bells.

Any ideas? Just found that since having a little one will be better off doing 30 mins to an hour in the morning would be easier than getting out to the gym and now clocks have changed and sun is shining I feel motivated!

I've got all of that and I might sell. All in excellent condition. Let me think about it, or do you want to buy new.

I'm not overly fussed by new as long as it is decent gear

I have a power rack in my garage, best thing I've ever bought, but If i had limited space I'd just invest in a decent barbell with plates, you can do so much alone with that imo..

Don't do it. You won't be able to push yourself to your full potential as you'll need the safety of a spotter to do that. Go to a normal gym

This is quite true. I have some weights sitting in the corner of my lounge and the only action they get is the duster once a week.

I agree with this.

I have a very decent treadmill and a few other bits and bobs at home but I just get bored quickly. Missus uses it all but I need to get out and see stuff so go running more than anything else.

You might have more self discipline than me though.

I'm not too worried about full potential - just want to get a fair bit fitter

I hate running, have dodgy ankles from old football injuries I never re-habbed properly after an op a few years back so need to run on flat surfaces which then hurt my shins!

Interested in the kettle bell stuff that Mullet has sent over as well as some cardio on a punch bag

I can't imagine training at home.

Going to the gym is the opportunity to switch off from everything else and spend an hour focusing 100% on whatever it is you like to do.

No, you can get a power rack or squat rack which will let you lift in safety.

What I would say, if you've not learned to do the technical lifts (or even some of the simpler ones, bench pressing is very notorious for shoulder problems) then get someone who knows what they're doing to teach you good form.

Yes, but as you presumably know, you're not going to get the extra rep or two which you need just a tiny bit of support on but is the difference between getting them or failing and not progressing as much.

Kettle bell swings are a good cardio workout. Just make sure you don't drop it on the top of your head.

Yes got one 6 months ago and I proudly put it together and text a picture to my mate. He told me that I will never use it and thought riculous, of course I will even if only for a few months. Still to this day I have never once used it.
