In the line of duty on 10:26 - Apr 24 by I_LOVE_GOLLOB | Your main suspect (solicitor lakewll) will bump off the inspector Roz, her husband gets locked up for the murders and the suspense rolls over to the next series... |
This is the absolute final series.

In the line of duty on 10:54 - Apr 24 by Bluebell | Do we know that balaclava man is definitely male? Could it be female? I don't think it is Roz. Could it be the girl with glasses who drives her everywhere? She seems to know exactly what is happening. I would be a hopeless detective. I never guess the murderer correctly. |
not many females have size 10 feet though do they?

In the line of duty on 12:05 - Apr 24 by LankHenners | I think the girl with glass noses is just an incredibly naive brown-noser trying to suck up to Roz at every opportunity. Lady handing over files presumably bribed or forced in some way to do the undercover work for Chief Hilton (the slimy one you refer to) so he can further his efforts to take down AC12. I had to do a bit of research last night as I hadn't actually watched the first 3 series which probably would have helped with last night's episode. Jimmy, for me, and several others it seems, is the most likely candidate for being balaclava man (although I suspect there's more than 1 of them). |
I have to admit I only watched the last series and not the previous ones so I am sometimes lost when they mention names.

I don't think it is. Broadchurch has finished but I'm pretty sure Line of Duty is definitely carrying on. I don't expect we'll get all the answers next week either. Which I'm not sure I could cope with...

I'm no good at this at all. I didnt have a clue until I read this thread but now you've all convinced me that it's Neil from The Office (Jimmy) so I'm going to go out in the real world and tell everyone my (your) theories so they all think I'm smart. [Post edited 24 Apr 2017 13:45]

Ah OK I'm mates with Jonny Owen (McClure's partner) and he said a couple of times there won't be another run. Maybe it will go on without Vicky.

In that case you probably know far better than me! Hope not though, some decent tv makes Sunday nights marginally less depressing.

That's the guy who used to be in The Office? I don't think he's slim enough to be the balaclava man who threw Arnott down the stairs.

It can't be the husband. If he is locked up he can't be Inspector George Gentley's sidekick again. That is if there is a new series of Inspector Gentley!

Wasn't the husband also Sam Tyler's father in Life on Mars? Back in 1973, I mean. I like Vicky McClure. I liked her in This is England as well. For my money, balaclava man is actually linked to that mafia gang they were talking about last night, and the Chief Constable is trying to save his reputation. Adrian Dunbar's character looked shifty when they were telling him about the frozen body parts last night as well.

That's why, on the basis that LOD almost every week throws up 'least likely' scenarios and shocks, I suggested a couple of weeks ago that it could even be Hastings or Fleming!! It's also the main reason for my feeling that altho I suspect Ros's husband, he wouldn't really be enough of a 'shock result' which we've come to expect from the series.

You must have missed that bit in the last episode, when Buckle was called in to see Hastings he made the point 'undercover officers have a shelf life' and that hers was coming to the end. Good excuse for not having her in any subsequent series.

She could have continued working in AC12 without playing an undercover role tho, numerous other jobs clearly available within it. Think there's a bit more to it (from the point of view of the character).

I like how no one seems surprised that all of a sudden she only has one hand. No one has even asked how she is feeling, aside from the dopey young speccy girl.
