Morris seems to score a fair few. How's he thought of among the coaching staff?

How is McDonell coming along Phil? Seemed on the brink of the first team at the end of last season but has not been seen since, could his time here be over? | | | | Login to get fewer ads

Good this evening but Coventry are v poor. Don't think he's made the progress he would have hoped for this season but as Mick has said we've a lot of central midfielders in the 18-21 age group so tough to breakthrough.

Perhaps, although would be a surprise to some extent, Saturday was a more likely game for that and Mick ruled it out.

I would think Pitman and Samuel will be on the bench on Saturday with Sears and McG back in the starting team. Possibly Morris might be involved at Forest if Forest are safe.

Fair point, cheers. Would be a shame to see him leave without a trace but you can understand why it will be hard for him to break past Benyu, Dozzell, Bishop, Nydam and even Huws if we sign him.

Phil, how do the club rate Morris in comparison to some of the young strikers we've had in recent times: Rhodes, Wickham, Marriott etc...

Not really sure. Difficult to compare with Wickham as he was already in the first team at 16 and he was very powerfully built at an early age. Morris is very clinical from what I've seen of him, although perhaps not to the remarkable degree of Rhodes but is quicker. Probably a little bit ahead of Marriott at a similar age, I would say. Think he could break into the first team next season, the odd appearance here and there rather than as a regular. A loan along the lines of Kundai's this year would probably do him good.
