I've ordered 2 fillet kangaroo steaks from a specialist butchers which are arriving tomorrow.

I have marinated the fillet steaks overnight in red wine, onion, garlic and chives.
Going to cook it tomorrow, and serve it with sweet potato fries, beetroot, and asparagus. | |

nicest meal i ever ate was a kangaroo steak in Sydney, came with 2 strips of crispy bacon on it, on a bed of sweet potato mash with asparagus and some sort of reduced red wine sauce. Treat it like best quality fillet steak, cook it no more than medium, you won't go wrong. Lean and delicious. They sometimes have kangaroo thigh fillets in Lidl believe it or not, 2 decent sized fillets (which are sometimes in 2 pieces) for a fiver maybe £4 even. They're a bargain at that price. Not Kangaroo but I had one of the best steaks in years from Lidl recently, or was in Aldi, I get confused. It was the one near the big Co op on Felixstowe Rd.
I quite like their meat and cheese but the rest of it is sh1te |  |
