Nothing in this other than some pure speculation on twitter right now.
Just wondering if the club might be looking at a shirt sponsorship deal this summer to make up the shortfall from season ticket sales? Seems to make sense to me and would be interested to see who we would potentially get if we were to sign a deal with someone.
Am sure we will get the Poundland responses etc, would seem quite apt! Can realistically only see a local-ish company currently getting involved with us, maybe someone like the Co-op, Adnams etc maybe.
Would love to see Greene King back on the front of the shirts again, didnt we treat them pretty badly though when their last deal expired?
No, I don't think so. There was a mutual recognition that we could make more money from the shirt sponsor as a Premier League club and Greene King sponsored Churchmans for a few years after that.
In hindsight, TXU was something of a precursor for the ensuing 15 years.

The Greene King years included the infamous 'Bury St Edmonds' shirt. The early signs were there.
I think they were yeah. The deal with TXU was fairly substantial from memory at the time, almost 2/3 times as much as Greene King deal so I don't blame the club for it, just remember being disappointed at the time as it felt right having Greene King on the front of the shirts, a bit like Fisons.
is this the main sponsor you're talking about - if it is it's unlikely to happen because Marcus Evans can input money to the club via this route and it's tax efficient for his group of companies.
He may see another sponsor (back of the shirt maybe) as an income stream but that would dilute his brand awareness, so again unlikey
(aware that I am talking marketing b*ll*x but there you are)

I worked for TXU back then.
Was all very exciting for a short while. A very short while.
I was born underwater, I dried out in the sun.
I started humping volcanoes baby, when I was too young.
They are but you can't make kids sized shirts with the logo, which the kit supplier/club always gripes about though it's only an EU rule so might not be a problem soon ;)
But most breweries make more from pouring rights (make alias more if they bothered to engage with the club on it more) and can get better returns with their money/brand with other sports than football thesedays
Would like to see Aspalls on the shirt - not just because it's a local success story with a great range but because the font is a real delight, darling.
