Call of Duty 3 was set during WW2. Go back and play it if you haven't, it's a God of game. The campaign is awesome before it rotated around online play.

Stunning opening level on the Normandy beach landings as I recall, the rest of it never quite lived up to that for me.
I'm one of the people who was blamed for getting Paul Cook sacked. PM for the full post.
I was watching the reveal and it does look good but I must admit when I saw it was going to be called 'WW2' I hoped it was going to cover more of the war than what it actually is...

I'd say the best campaign of any of them was the one in the snow with the Russian geezer
The best online was the map with the cranes and airport
Looks great, like the opening scene from saving Private Ryan. I'm gettin too old for this stuff, but it still appeals. Currently mashing Destiny as I arrived to it late. I get hammered in PvP as I haven't had the practice 😂

CoD 4 MW is my favourite. The level on the sinking ship, Chernobyl level. So good.
Agreed, a total game changer. The single player level where you lay on the ground waiting for the patrol to pass you then go and shot the Russian with the sniper rifle from the building has not been bettered for suspense in gaming in my view.

Where you get to fire off one shot before having to kneel down, stick some lint and a ball down the musket barrel, rod it down, cock the hammer, put gunpowder on the pan, stand up and get bayoneted in the throat by an angry Frenchman.

Some bits of Shenmue, fallout 3 and mass effect were probably up there in terms of game play but agree game changer.
In the spirit of reconciliation and happiness at the end of the Banter Era (RIP) and as a result of promotion I have cleared out my ignore list. Look forwards to reading your posts!
Haven't been on my Xbox in years, but I definitely think I'll be purchasing this one when it's released. As someone else said, there isn't no stupid jumping etc, so it makes it a top game already!

Ah the old Cod world at war multiplayer. My signature kill was finishing a player off who was end health cowering, with a flame thrower.

Or COD Thirty Years War, in which you die of plague, starve or get hanged before seeing any combat.
