The difference between being Chancellor and PM is not a technicality. As PM Brown did a lot of good and did of course stave off the worst effects of the finance crisis which by the way I do not deny he played a small part in creating. The gold thing is bordering on ridiculous when you consider we are talking about something like £5bn which is a tiny % of the Government's budget. |
The selling of gold is a long and involved story which may economists praised at the time and still do.
