This is my constituency as well and is one of the safest seats in East Anglia.
To be fair as Tory MPs go James Cartlidge is not too bad.
At least he is visible around the place unlike the previous incumbent Tim Yeo.

Parts of Tim Yeo were visible to certain county councillors.

To be fair to Tim Yeo, I don't think he was too bad for a Tory, his office always replied to my letters and e-mails, though they did feck up once and send something that was meant for someone else to me, it was about their difficulty getting benefits.

Cartlidge seems more invisible to me.

It doesn't matter who the tories put up in South Suffolk , they would still win.

I haven't decided who to vote for yet, though I have met the labour candidate, Jane Basham and I have to say she was really nice. The liberals have just posted their leaflet through the door, will check that out, the UKIP guy seems to be some sort of lunatic and I am not sure who else is standing.

Was this by postal vote? I applied for a postal vote but haven't got it yet. Should I be concerned?

Only if you are the labour candidate.

I know that was then, but it could be again..

It was yes. Wouldn't panic just yet. Like you say, a safe Tory seat anyway.

I would call the election office at the council tomorrow if I were you. They cocked it up for me in 2005 when I was overseas and I ended up being unable to vote.

One of my mates got suspended from 6th form for a week for asking him if he'd brought his love child when he came campaigning at Sudbury Upper in 1997. I thought he was alright too, I chatted to him a couple of timeswhen he was on the campaign trail in Melford, one time he was stood outside the Post Office for so long with his rosette on waiting for someone to talk to I felt a bit sorry for him so I went up and asked him a few questions.

I'm voting Labour, but South Suffolk is true blue. They could parade a sheep around here with a blue rosette on and it would get elected.
