I agree, we should have let them go bust. You can thank Gordon Brown for that.

The crash reflected financial market deregulation. Irrelevant to your comment.

Less austerity? There isn't a binary here. Austerity has no economic rationale. It take dogma and takes it to a cretinous order.

Corbyn and Labour appreciate the obvious: our inequalities are too extreme and we invest too little. In economic terms, there's no challenge from the Tories. As usual, they peddle guff.

What are we going to invest In to create all this growth though? The obvious would be to build infrastructure in cities outside of London and try to attract the IT industry. At the moment all design and engineering is moving out of Europe so it's a big gamble. My guess is that we will end up borrowing trillions to bribe companies to come here with massive sweeteners. People are going to be massively disappointed by all this.

Your dismissal of Corbyn is his ultimate endorsement.

All he needs now is Flash to say he won't win.

That's how I feel about your opinion too.

As for Trump I thought he was the best of two bad choices. Judge at the end of his presidency as we would with anyone else.

I doubt it. Anyone with any intelligence is scared stiff of what will happen here if we go down an isolationalist socialist path.

If he sticks to 5%, according to the PL it will be a cut in funding?

A Premier League spokesman said: ""The scale of Premier League support and investment in the wider game, and in communities and schools, is unprecedented in professional sport.
"The financial value of this investment has been, and continues to be, greater than 5% of the League's turnover each season."
Other commitments to sport in the Labour manifesto include legislating to allow supporters' trusts to appoint football club directors and pushing clubs to improve access for fans with disabilities.

Well... there's brexit. There there's kicking out ( and shafting) foreign investors in U.K. Companies.... that won't go down well, Then there will be the persecution of what's left of the banking industry. Then you have greater tax avoidance.

It's going to be a fookin disaster

Their stance on brexit is staying in the single market which means freedom of movement. Not sure how that counts.

Nothing isolationist there. Rather than FDI (often 'race to the bottom' globalisation), a focus on long term investment. And we're too reliance on the banking sector. The structural flaws of the economy are immense and it won't be solved by the ideology of the right.

Exactly, we can't compete globally and we ARE reliant on banking. I don't see how he is going to offer business anything to want to locate here.

One thing he will do is build more houses, but that will only be to serve greater immigration

Not true! We're reliant on the financial sector as a hangover of years of short termism (first enabled by Thatcherism inspired deindustralisation). Corbyn's Labour quite rightly has general investment at its core (particularly helping SMEs).

An economy reliant on banking will always be prone to economic crisis.

Hope this doesn't sound condescending but you might want to take another look.

Labour's policies which would help you out:

Minimum wage of £10
House building lowering housing costs and reducing the deposit you'll need
More money for the NHS
Nationalising utility services - lower costs in the future

Not all exclusively Labour policies. The Conservatives want to raise the personal allowance which would help you as well.

I believe it's a choice of Labour or the Conservatives. Any vote for anyone else is a vote for the Conservatives. You may disagree on that which is fair enough.

Worth having another read of the manifestos though if you're interested.

I'll be honest and say over the last 2/3 weeks, I've gone from likely voting Lib dems to 50/50 with them or labour

Lib Dems want another referendum which I disagree with whereas Corbyns trident views is an issue for me.

Conservative - absolutely not.
UKIP - pointless now we left EU
Greens - LOL

The closer to the election it's getting, the more I'm swaying away from the lib Dems.

We will see

The IFS have said both Tory and Labour manifestos don't work though and Labour will have the highest tax 'take' in history.

And they've warned it won't just be the rich who will pay

So we will fritter it away by subsidising higher wages in U.K. Industry until the financial sector finally hoovers is up via house price inflation. Well, that and a bit of house building

The problem is that the Lib Dems keep mentioning - particularly Farron - how a second referendum is necessary so we can 'see what the people really want'

I categorically disagree that another referendum is necessary or correct.

We'll finally see a genuine attempt to remove the structural problems of the economy. These problems aren't naturally eliminated as incentives are structured for short term gains at the expense of individual well-being.

The Tories of course want that inferior equilibrium to continue. There's a lot of economic rents for their chums in big business after all (thus accounting for the current fevered media manipulation efforts)

We won't get enough seats to influence another referendum. It's not a policy i agree with, even though people voted to leave based on 'alternative facts'

We should get a say in the 'type' of Brexit we want though.

The tax policies of both Labour and the Tories are worrying and both underfunded for what they want to do.

We all need to pay more to get what we want from Public Services and no-one is really addressing it, just window dressing round the edges.

We should listen to the IFS though and sites like www.fullfact.org who will independently analyse each manifesto and do that comparison for us.
