Mulryne in Reserves Tuesday, 29th Aug 2006 11:19 Town are seeking permission from the FA to field ex-Norwich City midfielder Phil Mulryne in the reserves against Colchester United at Playford Road this afternoon (KO 2pm, public access from 1.30pm). Mulryne has been training with the Blues over the last few weeks, having been released by Cardiff City in the summer. Mulryne, who was strongly tipped to join the Blues in the summer of 2002 had Town not been relegated from the Premiership, is available on a free should he impress his former Northern Ireland team-mate Jim Magilton. The Blues have announced a stronger than usual reserves squad with recent signing Martin Brittain joined by first team squad members Scott Barron, Dean Bowditch, Chris Casement, Darren Currie, Danny Haynes, Richard Naylor, Sito and Liam Trotter. The game switched venue due to the recent flooding problems at Portman Road which have now been rectified. Reserves: Barron, Bowditch, Brittain, Casement, Currie, Haynes, Knights, Mulryne, Moore, Naylor, Plummer, Reason, Sito, Synnott, Trotter, Upson.
