Boss Jim Magilton says he is confident that Fulham midfielder Sylvain Legwinski will accept the contract the Blues offered him after last week's trial. The Town manager says that the 33-year-old Frenchman may not be the only player to arrive at Portman Road before the transfer window closes on Thursday.

Magilton told the club site: "We have made Sylvain an offer and we're confident something will be sorted out.

"Negotiations have been going on and we're making progress, but nothing has been confirmed yet.

"We're hoping to have Sylvain with us and we are looking at bringing in one or two others as well.

"I've been on the phone virtually all week talking players and I'm confident we will have one or two new faces here by close of play on Thursday."

Contrary to reports elsewhere, Legwinski still has a year left on his contract at Fulham, but has been told he is no longer in manager Chris Coleman's plans and is available on a free transfer having not even been allocated a squad number this season.

Magilton has previously confirmed that Coventry striker Dele Adebola is amongst his targets, while Town are weighing up Hull City's £200,000 offer for Nicky Forster, a former Reading team-mate of Tigers boss Phil Parkinson.
