Nicky Forster's move to Hull City looks set to be confirmed within the next few hours with the striker agreeing personal terms and having completed a medical. Reports in Yorkshire say the Blues have agreed a £200,000 fee for the 32-year-old striker who will sign a two-year deal at the KC Stadium.

Hull boss Phil Parkinson says he has been considering signing his old Reading team-mate for a while: "Sometimes it takes time to get the player that you want and I've been looking at Nicky for a long time now.

"I know him from my time at Reading, and Ipswich certainly haven't been keen to let him go. It's a deal we've been working on for some time now.

"The thing about Nicky, is that he has a proven track-record at this level.

"We've needed someone with a proven record of being a goalscorer in the Championship and we should have a great character coming into the club.

"Before the transfer deadline, we wanted to bring in someone with the proven ability of scoring goals at this level and who has plenty of experience - Nicky fits the bill perfectly."

Town are looking to make signings of their own before the midnight deadline. We understand that Sylvain Legwinski will sign his one-year deal and that Coventry's Dele Adebola is still Jim Magilton's number one striking target.

The Sky Blues are very keen to include Darren Currie in the deal as well as cash, apparently £250,000. There seems to be little substance in the report claiming Micky Adams wants Matt Richards as part of the potential swap.

Crystal Palace's Jon Macken continues to be a loan target, although this is not as yet a done deal. Discussions have continued for much of the last month with Town's contribution to his wages the main point of contention, but it is believed the two parties have now come to an agreement.

Town could have another player on his way to Portman Road today, probably a defender. TWTD understands that the Blues made an unsuccessful enquiry regarding West Brom's Martin Albrechtsen earlier in the month and it could be the right-back area where Jim Magilton is seeking to increase his options.

Meanwhile in Norway, released Town midfielder Vemund Brekke Skard is rumoured to be on the verge of signing a short-term deal with Ham-Kam, the club where he was on trial last week.
