Walton Loan Extended

Charlton midfielder Simon Walton has extended his loan with Town until January 3rd. Walton had initially joined the Blues for a month.

Boss Jim Magilton told the club site: "When Simon goes back to Charlton, he wants to be in contention for a first team place and that's the attitude I would expect.

"But both Iain [Dowie] and I agree that it will benefit the lad if he stays here with us and plays regular first team football. That will give him valuable league experience.

"I have spoken to Simon and he is delighted that he is able to extend his stay here.

"He has fitted in well with the lads in his short time here and we're delighted to keep him until January."

Charlton have no recall on the 18-year-old who scored the opening goal from the penalty spot in last week's 3-1 win at QPR.

Liam Trotter's loan at Millwall also lasts until January 3rd and the Blues have no recall available on the young midfielder.
