The Blues have offered Bury Town central defender Ian Miller a contract until the end of the season. Miller revealed last week that the clubs are discussing the terms of his move to Portman Road.

TWTD was first to reveal that Miller was joining the Blues on trial early last month, having impressed the Town management in the pre-season friendly at Ram Meadow.

During his five-week spell the 22-year-old made two reserve appearances and boss Jim Magilton is confident he has what it takes to make it at this level.

Elsewhere, reports in Ireland indicate that the Blues are keen to sign Cork City midfielder George O'Callaghan. The 27-year-old has been on trial with the Blues and his spell at Playford Road has been extended into this week.

Meanwhile, Alan Lee's first goal of the season at Birmingham on Saturday was witnessed by his international boss Steve Staunton. The Republic of Ireland manager also got a chance to watch Jon Macken, who has one Irish cap, and caught 10 minutes of Billy Clarke in action.
