Boss Jim Magilton pulled no punches after his side's 1-0 defeat at Colchester United. The Northern Irishman described the performance as “not good enough” and of a standard he won't tolerate.

Magilton felt the opening period of the match was key to the Blues' defeat: “We lost the game in the first 20 minutes.

"We simply did not turn up and we could not win the ball, we were simply not good enough.

"There was no chance for us to play our game and a few harsh words were spoken in the dressing room at half-time. I will not tolerate a repeat performance like that."

Referee Lee Probert told Jon Macken why he disallowed his goal after the game: "The referee said there had been a foul on the keeper but I don't know how he came to that decision.

"I certainly never touched him and just put the ball over the line. The lads all thought it was a harsh decision."

Former Town midfielder and current Colchester boss Geraint Williams admitted that Town's goal should have been given but was full of praise for his players, in particular his goalscorer: "I thought the lads were magnificent.

"We all know how much this game meant and we have come away with what we wanted.

"I thought it was a real derby game, both teams played at a good tempo. It was a real captain's performance from Duguid and I'm delighted for him."
