Striker Alan Lee and goalkeeper Lewis Price could both be handed their first competitive international starts on Wednesday after disastrous weekend defeats for the Republic of Ireland and Wales. Lee was a late sub as the Irish lost 5-2 to Cyprus and Price was an unused sub as the Welsh were hammered 5-1 by Slovakia.

There are calls in the Irish press for Lee to come into Steve Staunton's side facing the Czech Republic in Dublin on Wednesday night. If he plays, Lee will win his 10th senior cap.

Price is vying with Blackburn keeper Jason Brown for the Wales goalkeeping position after Paul Jones's catastrophic display against Slovakia at the weekend. Wednesday sees Wales play Cyprus in Cardiff.

The Town keeper made his international debut against Cyprus in November 2005 and picked up his second cap when he came on as a substitute in a friendly with Paraguay in March this year.
