Town are taking ex-Fulham keeper Jaroslav Drobný on trial with a view to the former Czech Republic U21 international joining as short-term cover for the injured Lewis Price. The Wales full cap is out for at least three matches with a broken rib.

Boss Jim Magilton told the club site: "Lewis is going to be missing for a few weeks so we have decided to bring in Jaroslav on trial.

"We will have a look at him but there's certainly a chance that we will look to sign him for a month to give us some cover while Lewis is recovering."

Drobný, 27, was released by Fulham in August after a year at Craven Cottage in which he failed to make a senior appearance. The 6ft 5in tall keeper started his career with SK České Budějovice in his home country with whom he played from 1999 to 2002 before moving to Panionios prior to his switch to Fulham.

The keeper picked up a knee injury which required surgery soon after signing a three-year deal with the Cottagers. On his recovery, he was sent out on loan to ADO Den Haag in Holland. Over the summer Drobný was linked with a move to Dinamo Kiev.

Prior to his 16 U21 appearances, which included a silver medal-winning appearance at the 2000 European Championships, Drobný won caps at U18 and U20 levels and played two games at the 2000 Olympics.
