McCarthy After Miller?
McCarthy After Miller?

Town could be facing opposition from Wolves boss Mick McCarthy for the signature of former Blue Tommy Miller. The midfielder looks set to leave Sunderland with Portman Road his expected destination in January, but ex-Sunderland manager McCarthy is now thought to have joined George Burley's Southampton in targeting the 27-year-old.

Current Black Cats' boss Roy Keane confirmed that his old Republic of Ireland manager had been on the phone to him, but didn't reveal the identity of the players he was after: "Mick's shown an interest in one or two players.

"My history with him won't stop anything happening between the two clubs. There is a possibility of something happening, there is a chance."

Meanwhile, Town are reported to be showing renewed interest in former loanee Jay McEveley. The Blackburn centre-half or left-back has also been linked with Preston.
