Miller OK For Christmas
Miller OK For Christmas

On-loan Town defender Ian Miller is expected to be OK to play for Boston over the Christmas period despite being on the end of a horror challenge while playing for the Pilgrims at Torquay last Saturday. Miller was stretchered off in the 16th minute after a dreadful tackle from Gulls striker Jordan Robertson.

A scan has allayed fears that the former Bury Town player might have suffered ligament damage and there are even hopes that the 23-year-old central defender could return to action against Walsall on Saturday.

Boston are considering whether to send a tape of the incident to the FA as Robertson wasn't even shown a yellow card.

Miller said: "I thought it was an awful tackle. The fact he didn't get booked was incredible.

"We both went for the ball, but I got there just before him and played it to one of our strikers. But he carried on and stamped on my knee with his studs.

"I feel lucky because, if my foot had been on the floor, he might have broken my leg.

"Thankfully, there is no ligament damage, just bruising, and I'm hoping to be fit for Saturday.

"I have been receiving treatment at Ipswich this week and will join up with the Boston lads tomorrow night before, hopefully, training on Friday.

"I have already done some work on the bike and treadmill in the gym, and my range of movement is good.

"If it's touch and go, I'll probably sit out the game on Saturday, but would certainly be looking to be available for the Boxing Day game with Lincoln."

Miller's loan spell with the Pilgrims ends on January 6th. The Colchester-born player is keen to return to the Blues but Town could extend his stay with the League Two club, where he has impressed, or alternatively send him out on loan again but at a higher level.
