Boss Jim Magilton has hinted that he could enter the loan market when the emergency window opens on Wednesday. The Town manager is short of cover in midfield and attack.

Magilton said: “There may well be a loan coming in, but we will be guided by how Gavin is and with suspensions, which could make us light."

In addition to Williams, who has a pelvic injury, Owen Garvan was left with a sore knee after Saturday's game and Sylvain Legwinski has been suffering with a hip problem. Gary Roberts is suspended for one game after reaching five bookings.

Up front, Alan Lee misses the next two games through suspension after reaching 10 yellow cards, while Jon Walters is cup-tied for the Watford match.

At the weekend, former loanee Simon Walton confirmed Town's interest in re-signing him during the transfer window but eventually moved to Cardiff.
