De Vos Has Surgery
De Vos Has Surgery

Skipper Jason De Vos has had his foot operation and is confident he will be back in time to start pre-season with the rest of the squad. De Vos required the surgery having suffered a number of foot problems in recent seasons.

The Canadian told the club site: "The specialist has told me that the surgery has gone well.

"Everything is very positive and, if my recovery goes to plan, I should be able to join the rest of the lads for the start of pre-season training.

"From past experience I know that if you miss the start of pre-season, you are always playing catch-up - and you never make it.

"I hate missing games and we held off as long as we could before I had the operation, but we couldn't go beyond this week, otherwise it would definitely have put me behind the others in the summer.

"At best you are looking at eight weeks before I can start kicking a ball again and, although you can never guarantee everything will go according to plan in the recovery, at least now the surgery is done I have a decent chance of being back for the first day of training."
