Town's reserves completed their double with an 8-0 victory over Jason Dozzell's Leiston in the final of the Club Colours Suffolk Premier Cup at Portman Road. Last week the second string secured the Pontin's Holidays Football Combination League East Division title.

Liam Trotter put the Blues in front with his first goal of the evening in the 15th minute. Prolific youngster Jordan Rhodes added the second with a header on 26 with Republic of Ireland U21 international defender Michael Synnott nodding home the third two minutes later. Trotter added his second a minute before the break from Sammy Moore's corner.

Dean Bowditch scored the fifth on 69 after seizing on a loose ball after another Moore corner. Billy Clarke added the sixth on 81, after Trotter had narrowly failed to complete his hat-trick, then Scott Barron netted the seventh with a header and midfielder Jai Reason fired in the game's final goal with two minutes remaining after coming off the bench.

The Town second string have one league game left to play, next Monday's home match with Northampton (Portman Road, KO 7pm) when they will receive the Combination League East Division trophy, plus a play-off with the winners of the Central Division, Southampton or Brighton, on a date yet to be set.

Reserves: Plummer, Sito (Fenn 64), Synnott, Smith, Robinson, Moore, Trotter (Reason 73), Barron, Bowditch, Rhodes (Upson 57), Clarke. Unused: Williams, Tooms. Att: 1,248.
